Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss to coat and set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Spoon the peach mixture over the batter, making sure to distribute evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
Notes
- For an extra flavor boost, add a dash of nutmeg to the peach filling.
- Frozen peaches can be used if fresh ones are not available; just thaw and drain excess liquid.
- Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for a delightful finish.
