  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 8 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss to coat and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter, making sure to distribute evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

Notes

  • For an extra flavor boost, add a dash of nutmeg to the peach filling.
  • Frozen peaches can be used if fresh ones are not available; just thaw and drain excess liquid.
  • Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for a delightful finish.
