Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Toss gently and let it sit for about 10 minutes.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining 1/2 cup of sugar.
- Add the milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spoon the batter over the peaches, ensuring even coverage.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with vanilla ice cream!
