  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. If using, fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
