- 2 cups fresh peaches, diced

- 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the buttermilk, and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the diced peaches gently to avoid breaking them.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- To make the frosting, combine the brown sugar, milk, and butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the mixture comes to a boil, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Gradually whisk in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Once the cakes are completely cool, spread a layer of frosting on top of one cake layer, place the second layer on top, and frost the top and sides of the cake.
Notes
- For an extra touch, add chopped pecans or walnuts to the frosting.
- Make sure the peaches are ripe for the best flavor.
