Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of brown sugar and set aside to let them macerate.
- In another bowl, mix together the flour, remaining brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Evenly distribute the peach mixture over the batter (do not stir).
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider adding a sprinkle of nutmeg along with the cinnamon.
- Frozen peaches can be used if fresh ones are not available; just thaw and drain excess liquid.
- Serve with whipped cream or ice cream for a delightful treat.
