- 2 cups cooked macaroni
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the cooked macaroni, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, and cream cheese until well combined.
- Season the mixture with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and set aside on a baking sheet.
- In a shallow dish, place the flour. In another dish, whisk the eggs. In a third dish, place the breadcrumbs.
- Dredge each mac and cheese ball first in flour, then dip into the egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the mac and cheese balls in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add cooked bacon or jalapeños to the mac and cheese mixture.
- These balls can be frozen before frying; just ensure to thaw them in the fridge before cooking.
- Serve with marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.
