  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 8 ounces pasta (penne or fusilli)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the ground turkey, breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add the canned tomatoes (with juice), chicken broth, oregano, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  6. Reduce heat and stir in the cooked pasta, mixing well to combine.
  7. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the pasta and stir until melted and creamy.
  8. Serve immediately, garnished with extra cheese if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, add red pepper flakes to taste.
  • You can substitute ground turkey with ground chicken or beef if preferred.
